Mgr. Gregor Bánó, PhD.

Gregor Bánó received an M.S. degree in 1997 at Charles Univ. in Prague, Czech Rep. (physical electronics and plasma physics) and a PhD in 2003 at Univ. of Szeged, Hungary (optics and opto-electronics). He held research position at the Research Institute for Solid State Physics and Optics in Budapest (Hungary) from 2001–2006, and joined the Department of Biophysics at P.J.Šafárik Univ. in Košice in 2007. His present research interest is focused on the experimental investigation of drug transport phenomena by means of different laser spectroscopic techniques.

RNDr. Zuzana Naďová, PhD.

Specialist in molecular biology, protein chemistry and metabolic pathways, senior researcher at the Dpt. of Biophysics, UPJS. PhD degree in general biology/microbiology (2001) UPJS, Slovakia. Research training: Inst. of Molecular Genetics, Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, Czech Republic (3 years – postdoctoral stay), several short term fellowships at ANBioPhy, Univ. Paris VI, France. RNDr. Branislav Brutovský, CSc.

Branislav Brutovský received PhD degree in Condensed Matter Physics in 1998 at Institute of Experimental Physics, Slovak Academy of Science in Kosice. Presently, his research focuses on the applications of evolutionary optimization, simulation and prediction techniques to solve broad range of problems at the interface of physics, biology and medicine.

RNDr. Gabriela Fabriciová, PhD.

Odborná asistentka na Katedre biofyziky. Špecialistka v oblasti Ramanovej spektroskopie. Ukončený druhý stupeň vysokolškého vzdelania (Mgr.) v odbor Biofyzika a chemická fyzika na Univerzite Pavla Jozefa Šafárika v Košiciach (1994). Ph.D. titul v odbore Biofyzika získaný na Univerzite Komenskeho v Bratislave (1998). Postdoktorandské štúdium na IEM CSIC v Madride (Španielsko).

Doc. Mgr. Daniel Jancura, PhD.

Associate professor at Department of Biophysics, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Safarik University in Kosice (UPJS), PhD. degree in Biophysics (1999), Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovakia), associate professor in Biophysics at UPJS from 2009. Specialist in molecular biophysics and molecular bioenergetics, recent research interests: structure and stability of biomacromolecules and their complexes with low molecular ligands, construction and characterization of lipoprotein based drug delivery systems, catalytical mechanism of cytochrome c oxidase.

Lenka Koptašiková

Lenka received MSc degree in Genetics and Molecular Cytology at Pavol
Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (2013). She has started her PhD
study in September 2014 under the supervision of Dr.Štroffeková at the
Department of Biophysics. The Diploma thesis focuses on the study of
morpho-dynamics, metabolism, and mitochondrial dysfunction in intact
cells under various types of stress conditions.

Mgr. Matúš Mišuth

Matúš recieved M.S. degree in 2013 as a teacher of academic subjects biology and chemistry. In diploma thesis research he studied Non-sterodial antiinflammatory drugs and their apparent to cancer cell line HT-29. Currently is a PhD. student of biophysics at department of biophysics under supervising Prof. Miškovský and Dr. Naďová. His scientific research is focused to study molecular mechanisms of cell death caused by photodynamic therapy.

RNDr. Matúš Rebič

Matúš received MSc degree in Theoretical Physics at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (2013). At present, PhD. student under the supervision of doc. RNDr. Jozef Uličný, CSc. at the Department of Biophysics. The doctoral thesis is focused on design, construction and application of Coarse Grain models (computer simulations in the context of multi-scale modeling of microscopic biological structures). Within a collaboration involving Slovakia, Sweden and Italy, he is working on developing of human telomeric G-quadruplex CG model, using Inverse Monte Carlo and Iterative Boltzmann Inversion techniques.

Dominik Belej

Dominik Belej received Master of Sciences degree in 2011 at Pavol Jozef Šafarik University with diploma thesis: Influence of the Emodin on the Human Serum Albumin stability. In September 2011 he started his PhD study at the Department of Biophysics under supervision of Dr. Daniel Jancura.

Jaroslav Varchola

Jaroslav Varchola úspešne absolvoval magisterské štúdium na UPJŠ v Košiciach v roku 2012 s diplomovou prácou: Detekcia singletového kyslíka počas fotodynamickej akcie. V septembri 2012 začal svoje doktorandské štúdium. Jeho práca je zameraná na produkciu singletového kyslíka a vedúcim jeho práce je Dr. Gregor Bánó.
